Dr. Laurence Bosley, MD, FRCPC, DABPN

Clinical Director of Addiction Services, Dept. of Psychiatry, VIHA

Dr. Bosley graduated from the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine in June 1992.

He completed his Psychiatry residency in June 2004 and his Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship in June 2005 at the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington.

He has held several professional positions in his field: Physician at Riverview Psychiatric Hospital, Private Practice in Addiction Medicine and Methadone Treatment in Vancouver, Native Health Clinic Physician, Staff Psychiatrist for Urgent Short Term Assessment and Treatment Clinic, Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA), and Staff Psychiatrist Victoria Mental Health Center VIHA.Ê

He is currently the Clinical Director of Addiction Services for VIHA and serves as consultant psychiatrist with the Regional Pain Clinic team.

Dr. Doug McGhee, MD

Family Physician, Victoria Youth Clinic

Dr. Doug McGhee graduated from Dalhousie University, Faculty of Medicine in 1992.

He has been a family doctor in Victoria for 16 years with a particular interest in Inner City Youth Medicine. He currently works with street-involved youth and at the Victoria STI Clinic.

In 2006, Dr. McGhee co-authored a survey of drug use among high school students in Victoria and Vancouver. The survey concluded that school-based initiatives may fail to reach many regular drug users. For more information on this survey, please click here.

Dr. McGhee also directed a movie on meth called "Reduce Speed."
